Final Performance December 8 at 3:00 PM

Petite Opera Productions takes its Amahl and the Night Visitors * on the road to Oak Park for its final performance December 8. The performance will be presented at First United Church of Oak Park, 848 Lake St, Oak Park, IL 60301.
A star, three kings, a poor widow, her crippled son and a Christmas miracle…
Amahl and the Night Visitors is a heartwarming holiday opera where a mischievous boy, three wise kings, and a dash of magic collide on their journey to find the Christ child. Expect miracles, laughter, and a lesson in generosity that’s perfect for the whole family.
Petite Opera Productions’ Stage Director Cathy Dunn and Set Designer Miguel Lopez Lemus give a whole new dimension to this delightful classic using a Mexican Street puppet approach to make the three kings larger than life — up to 8 feet tall — just as a 10-year-old Amahl would envision them. This final performance features true son (Ben Govertsen as Amahl) and mother (Mary Govertsen as Mother), along with an incredible cast that includes five additional artist families. This production truly puts family at its center, and is suitable for all ages.
Just like Amahl, you, too, will experience the Transformation of Giving.
