The Mel Brooks Musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

Book: Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan
Music: Mel Brooks
Original Direction & Choreography: Susan Stroman

Go on a comic Halloween romp through Transylvania, Mel Brooks’ style!

Come experience the comic genius of Mel Brooks in his brilliant stage creation, adapted from his legendarily funny film – Young Frankenstein!

Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “From-en-steen”) inherits his family’s Eatate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced “Eye-gore”), and a leggy lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. “It’s alive!” He exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival that of his grandfather. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds.

Every bit as relevant to audience members who will remember the original movie as it will be to newcomers, Young Frankenstein has all the panache of the screen sensation with a little extra theatrical flair added. This offers audiences the perfect comic Halloween escape. With such memorable tunes as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend” and “Puttin’ On the Ritz,” Young Frankenstein is scientifically proven, monstrously good entertainment.

Petite Productions (our non-opera performance series) artistic staff is pulling out all the stops to bring this incredible stage Broadway spectacle to Park Ridge with a fantastically talented cast. Halloween wouldn’t be same without it.

Don’t miss it! Patrons are invited to come in costume!
